Adaptation Now
Identity, Print, Digital
Adaptation Now is a documentary film project focused on stories about climate change as told through the people most likely to experience its effects.
The logo is derived from very simple shape but carries much deeper meaning. AN wanted to convey the seriousness of climate change without being overwhelming, so the identity had to be relatable to some extent. The mark is a straightforward A & N monogram that comes together to form an hourglass. This shape suggests that time is indeed passing, that climate change is inevitable and that the time to observe and act is now. The crossbar of the A forms a literal line in the sand, showing that the top half of the hourglass is empty.
Facing the Surge, Adaptation Now’s first film, looks at the impact of climate change throughout the United States’ East coast. Imagery from the film was shown on posters trapped inside the hourglass’ emptying vessel.
